The school buildings range from an impressive frontage and lawns, a main hall (described by many as ‘Hogwarts’) and a range of traditional and more modern classrooms, sports facilities (including competition standard swimming pool) and Hockney Theatre.
Facilities
The School regularly hosts performances, charity balls, community groups, meetings and sports fixtures. It has also been a venue for TV, having hosted Question Time and The Big Questions on the BBC and been used as a venue for several feature films.
BGS is featured on Creative England’s database for filming locations, studios and facilities. A pioneering not-for-profit company Creative England is dedicated to unlocking the creative power of our country to drive national prosperity and accelerates talent and ideas across tech, games, film and TV.
The Bradford Film Office (First UNESCO City Of Film) recently visited BGS to showcase our locations available for TV and film production.
All the profits are reinvested into the School for the benefit of pupils. The School also strives to be part of the wider Bradford Community and continues to let out many of its facilities to local clubs and community groups through its trading company BGS Commercial Activities Limited.
BGS is also listed on Independent Schools for Hire, a dedicated website displaying the outstanding facilities available to hire at some of the UK’s best independent schools.
The School has a wide range of facilities and rooms available for hire for all types of activities and events. Parking is free for up to 120 cars (outside term time) and situated just a mile from Bradford city centre our location is convenient for access to and from the major motorways.
