Mr Ribeiro is currently the Deputy Head at Wakefield Girls’ High Junior School and was formerly a teacher at Richmond House Preparatory School, Leeds. He said of his new role: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as Head of Bradford Grammar Junior School. I very much enjoyed spending time in the school during the interview process. This is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to leading the Junior School in the next stage of its development.”

Mr Ribeiro will arrive in post in summer term 2020 and is assured of a very warm welcome. Dr Simon Hinchliffe, Headmaster, said: “We are delighted to announce Richard’s appointment. The position attracted a strong national and international field of candidates and the strength of Richard’s application gives us great confidence that he will make a very positive contribution to the next chapter of life at Clock House. We look forward to providing opportunities for pupils and families to meet Richard; meanwhile, I would also like to express sincere thanks to the acting Headmistress at Clock House, Jane Disley, for the leadership and direction she has provided since arriving in September 2019.”

Clock House, the Junior School at BGS, is a selective, independent, co-educational school for children aged 6 to 11 years. BGS was founded in 1548 and granted its Charter by King Charles II in 1662. It has enjoyed outstanding exam results this year with the vast majority of its students securing a place at a Russell Group university. It was ranked top three in the North by The Sunday Times for 2019 and named Northern Independent School of the Year 2018.
