Our events are a wonderful opportunity for you to meet us and to discover the world of opportunities a BGS education could bring to your child.

Our Open Mornings are more structured and held throughout the school year. These events give prospective parents an opportunity to meet the Headmaster and members of staff and see the school on a working day.

Our main Open Day takes place in early October. This is an informal day held on a Saturday from 10am to 2pm and gives prospective parents and children a fantastic insight into life at BGS. You would be shown around the school by one of our pupils, and staff would be on hand to answer your questions at any time during your visit. You would have the opportunity to look at our impressive facilities and get involved in the many activities we plan for you. Our Stay & Play taster sessions are an opportunity for potential parents and children aged 3-4 to come and experience life in our Reception class and meet some of our wonderful teachers.

You can, at any time, immerse yourself in all that BGS has to offer by accessing the 360° virtual tour of our Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form.

How Do I Register for An Open Event at Bradford Grammar School?

You can register for one of our Open Events by visiting our Open Events page, choose the date you would like to visit and enter your details.

What Should I Expect During An Open Day?

Open Day is the most informal of our events held on a Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Prospective parents and students will be given a pupil tour guide around our fantastic facilities. You’ll get to visit all our departments where teachers and students will be running activities for you to observe or join in with as you please. Soak up our talent student’s art displays, music and work as you tour the school as see if you can picture yourself here as a student. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Headmaster, the Finance Team, and staff members to ask any questions you may have.

Open Mornings are more formal with a pupil tour guide of the school during a normal school day seeing the lessons in action! There will be dedicated time after the tours for you to ask any questions to the admissions team.

What Time Should I Arrive On An Open Day?

Tours of the school will be running from 10am through to 2pm. We advise arriving no later than 1pm to get the full experience of what BGS has to offer and to see all our impressive facilities.

On open mornings we advise arriving no later than 1 hour before the end of the event.

Where Can I Park For The Open Events?

Parking is onsite and can be accessed by the school gate on Frizinghall Road. More information will be provided in your confirmation email after registering for an Open Event.

Can Prospective Pupils attend Open Events?

Absolutely! We encourage prospective pupils to attend together with their parents to get a better understanding of what life at BGS entails. It is important to us that families have all the information they need before applying to join the school.

BGS wins national engagement award

BGS has won a national award for a campaign to promote happiness and wellbeing among its students, staff and the local community.

Christmas Fair: Saturday 30 November 9am - 4pm

Our fair is the perfect place to buy unique gifts for friends and family, with a wide variety of stalls from across Yorkshire. You can enjoy festive music, sample treats and as always Santa will be here!
