Businesses and educationalists came together at a recent networking event, thanks to Bradford Grammar School (BGS) and West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

The school hosted a breakfast event for Bradford Chamber Property Forum, with businesses and students mingling and discussing future career opportunities. Senior managers from the school facilitated small networking groups with students and local businesses, before details of a new development in the District were outlined.

Keyland Developments plans to create 150 homes and one million square feet of commercial use on the former waste water treatment site at Esholt were revealed. The scheme, which aims to be at the cutting edge of the sustainability and green agenda, will bring back into use an important and significant site within Bradford.

Bradford Grammar School’s Bursar, Gail Monnickendam, an event speaker, said: “It was great to welcome local businesses into our wonderful buildings, including the new sports barn. We are keen to engage more with the local business community and with the Chamber of Commerce to support growth and development and we made some useful contacts at the Property Forum event.”

WYG’s Marianne McCallum, who chairs Bradford Chamber’s Property Forum, said: “It was a very useful meeting, as they always are. An in-depth analysis of the planned development at Esholt was well-received. The scheme will play a great contribution to the local economy and bring back into being an important and significant site. Members also had the chance to network with members of the school’s management team.”
