Before and After School Care

We know it can be tricky to juggle work and childcare, which is why we offer supervised care. From a supervised space for homework to outdoor play and board games, we will ensure that those hours are well spent.

The School day starts at 8.45am and ends at 3.20pm for Junior pupils and at 4pm for Senior pupils.

Pupils can be dropped off at school from 7.30am (7.45am for Juniors). Breakfast is available for purchase in the Dining Room from 8am with a wide choice of hot and cold options.

The Junior School playground is supervised from 7.45am and not before. After school, Junior children can go to After Care which is held in the Junior School. After Care is charged separately and is invoiced termly in arrears. Details are available from the Registrar or the Finance department.

Senior School pupils who need to stay after school are expected to go to the Library until 5pm and will then be supervised in a classroom until 6pm.

It is expected that pupils will be collected by 6pm.

BGS wins national engagement award

BGS has won a national award for a campaign to promote happiness and wellbeing among its students, staff and the local community.

Christmas Fair: Saturday 30 November 9am - 4pm

Our fair is the perfect place to buy unique gifts for friends and family, with a wide variety of stalls from across Yorkshire. You can enjoy festive music, sample treats and as always Santa will be here!

Due to treacherous conditions on campus and the surrounding areas, the school site is closed today (Tuesday 19 November).

Due to the snow and unsafe travel conditions, school will be closed today (Tuesday 2 February).

Use this morning to enjoy some fresh air away from screens, curl up with a good book or, if necessary, catch up with some school work. Remote lessons will resume in the Senior School this afternoon. An exercise is being set for Clock House pupils.
