Meet the Pastoral Team
at Bradford Grammar School
The Pastoral Team
Outstanding pastoral support contributes to the happiness of Bradford Grammar School pupils, creating a positive, friendly atmosphere for all. The team includes teaching colleagues, Heads of Year, Counsellors and Nurses.
For Parents
The pastoral needs of all pupils are met throughout their education at BGS. Every pupil has a Form Tutor with whom he or she has daily contact. There are slightly different arrangements for the Junior and Senior Schools.
In the Junior School we work closely with parents to ensure each child receives the best possible pastoral care during their time at BGS. From making friends in the classroom to participating in clubs and activities, our team of Form Teachers and School Nurses work together to promote our pupils’ happiness and progress.
In the Senior School, Heads of Year oversee and support Form Tutors. They work with the School Nurses, School Counsellors and Learning Support Department to ensure that the needs of each individual pupil are met.
The Assistant Head (Pastoral) has overall responsibility for the team and for pupil welfare generally within the Senior School. Alongside this team of staff, our own pupils contribute significantly to pastoral care through our Sixth Form mentoring scheme, Student Voice councils and our Council Against Bullying.
