Community Commitment
We cherish a deep respect for the beliefs and cultures of others, promoting a safe, caring and inclusive community.
About Bradford Grammar School
The nature of the support we provide depends on the needs of the people and organisations that we work with.
This may be as simple as BGS pupils taking part in the Barnardo’s mentoring scheme, volunteering for Age UK, to providing free tickets for other schools to events such as leading author visits.
Our aim is to promote an understanding that by giving to others, we ultimately enrich our own lives.
We have many existing links with various schools, speakers, charities and associated organisations.
By working in partnership and strengthening links with our collaborators we are able to identify how we can help with particular challenges or issues in a mutually beneficial way. A full list of our partnerships can be found below.
We are proud of our commitment to providing Assisted Places, which transform the lives of young people in and around Bradford.
Assisted Places ensure that the BGS community remains diverse, inclusive, and tolerant, with students coming from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. We spend on average £850,000 annually on student funding, which currently benefits around 10 external Year 7 students and 5 external Year 12 students. We are hoping to double this number in the coming years and are very grateful to the Old Bradfordians and friends who contribute to our Assisted Places Fund.
